In the face of carbon content of the atmosphere bridging the 400ppm threshold one might think that people would compromise their lifestyles in minor ways, at least to assuage the feeling of carbon guilt generated by their excessive consumption.

While this is a cheap and simplistic assessment, the challenge exists to demonstrate that the public are making any concessions at all.
Maybe people will compromise when we it 500ppm.
